The Guest Services Specialist (GSS), under the direction of the Patient Experience Department, functions as a liaison between patients, families, visitors and staff to facilitate the highest level of patient satisfaction. The GSS creates a positive impression through high-quality engagement, assistance, proactive rounding and customer service recovery. Orients and supports patients/families regarding the hospital environment, amenities and resources. This position is responsible for providing guests with patient and UF Health information, wayfinding, securing transportation and sharing knowledge of local lodging and amenities. The GSS supports the lost and found process, provides valet vouchers and ensures a safe and clean environment. Proactively facilitates communication and problem resolution between unit staff, other departments and the patient/family.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- AA degree preferred or three years of customer service experience in health care or related service industry.
- Experience must include supervising or leading the work of others.
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to use a computer.
- Must be results-oriented and able to teach and train others.
- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must successfully pass an FBI Level 2 screening for this position.
