The Role:

The main function of the Guest Service Agent is to register guests in and out. The Guest service agent also provides local information to guests, provides camping information, transportation, and keeps property up to company standards. Assisting with food preparations during breakfast as well as Wine and Cheese hour.

 Responsibilities:

Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Proficiently work within OPERA operating system (a hotel reservation system).
  • Provide general information for hotel, activities, dining options, transportation, etc.
  • Answer questions and respond to guest inquiries
  • Provide transportation to the boat at scheduled intervals
  • Boos reservations for lodging space; including rate and payment information for guests
  • Post and refund payments. Balance shift report with all payments, including credit cards
  • Provide local area information to our in-house guests and the general public, and requests received by mail and telephone.
  • Check-in hotel guests, including walk-ins and groups
  • Act as a coordinator between the guests and the housekeeping team
  • Work with guests to address concerns or special needs requests
  • Maintain safe working conditions and ensure safe work practices are followed to avoid accidents/injuries. Ensure health and safety policies are always adhered to
  • Work with managers and other team members to support sales promotions
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward work and colleagues, and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner
  • Recommend and upsell Company activities and other Company venues.
  • Assist the housekeeping team with any needs, including laundry, dishwashing, and cleaning rooms
Qualifications

Skillset Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience interacting with customers
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests.
  • Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.
  • California Servsafe certificate
  • California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification

 

Physical Required Qualifications:

  • Position requires walking and standing for most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hotel Operations knowledge
  • Experience with Opera preferred
  • Knowledge of the local area and attractions.

 

Job Expectations regarding Scheduling:

  • This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consists of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekend shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.
