POSITION: GSRP Lead Teacher
LOCATION: Romulus Early Childhood Center
WORK YEAR: Program Calendar (approximately 9 months)
WORKDAYS/HOURS: Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 3:30pm and every other Friday 8:00am to 11:30am
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Early Learning
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a major in Early Childhood
Ability to interact with other staff members in a positive and meaningful manner to model meaningful relationships for children.
Neat in appearance, pleasant personality.
Ability to be a both contributing and functional team member.
Ability to reflect on ways to increase effectiveness to enhance student growth and development.
Ability to develop a rapport and respectful relationships with other children and their parents/guardians
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise children
Teach children with hands-on-activities
. Interact with children.
Create lesson plans that are well thought out and in alignment with the program.
Create, establish, and follow a consistent daily routine.
Read stories aloud to children.
Practice health & safety standards.
Keep Kid's Gym, Activity Center and Large Muscle Area organized and neat in appearance.
Make sure each child is signed-in and signed-out by the correct person.
Play games with children while children are at recess.
Supervise children and care for their needs (bathroom breaks, etc.).
Teach the High Scope Curriculum with fidelity.
Observe the interactions and growth of children, documenting progression with written notes that are input into COR.
Assign task to be done to each teacher (Lead Teacher, assistant teacher, and 3rd person teacher)
Design the classroom learning environment according to High Scope Curriculum
Make sure daily attendance is done even if a team member is absent
Turn in required forms daily. Adhere to Program Standards and maintain accurate records that document fulfillment of curriculum and objectives
Plan and complete two Home Visits and two Parent Teacher Conferences per child.
Attend training to enhance and improve skill and knowledge.
Other duties may be assigned and as related to this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds in supplies which requires bending, stooping and lifting.
The employee must be able to use a variety of instructional materials in the classroom.
The employee must use hands and arms to manipulate objects.
The employee must use keyboards, tools and other controls.
The employee must sit and stand for long periods of time.
The employee must have normal vision and hearing with or without aid.
The employee must be able to move about the assigned location during the day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- The employee is required to interact with students, staff, parents / guardians, administration and occasionally with the public.

SALARY: $28.00 / hr. Lead Teacher
$30.00 / hr. Lead Teacher with a master's degree Non-Union, No Benefits
