Job description

**This position is at the Orlando International Airport**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Comply with the Location’s attendance/tardiness standards.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. 
  • Schedules all preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Orders parts required for preventive maintenance and major repairs.
  • Maintains all equipment records and monitors vehicle registration and hour meter program.
  • Coordinates scheduling of equipment to be repaired.
  • Coordinates all QA inspections on fuel equipment.
  • Adjusts errors and complaints.
  • Performs or assists in performing duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure Ground Equipment and Fueling repair deadlines are met.

  • Must provide necessary tools.
  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of an Automotive/Diesel Mechanic degree program preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Reasoning Ability: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Certifications, licenses, registrations:  Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and other FAA Airport required identification/seals or authorizations. ASE Certifications a plus.

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
