We are currently seeking a Grower Outreach Viticulture Technician 2 to join our team. In this role, you will take part in daily activities of ongoing Grower Outreach projects and interact with growers and Gallo employees. As a member of the Outreach Team, you will be responsible for data collection, monitoring grapevine physiology, and conducting vineyard practices related to projects including pruning, canopy and crop load management, pest and disease scouting, and vineyard sampling. You will also report on activities and results to Grower Outreach and Grower Relations leadership and assist in planning and executing Grower Outreach events.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about viticulture and is committed to learning and growing in this field. You should have experience in experimental design, vine manipulations, and pest management practices. You should also be comfortable with travel and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture, Plant Science, Ag Science, Ag Business, or Biology plus 2 years of viticulture experience..
• Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Required lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Required to work in extreme weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
• Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a valid appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
• Required to safely operate small vineyard vehicles such as RTVs.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
• Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Compensation:

• Hiring Salary Range Posted: $25.30 - $37.91 / hour
• Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
