What You Do
What You Do
- Will provide leadership to the Body Accuracy Team through clearly established two-way communication regarding goals and actions by use of Floor Management Systems, ensuring alignment of Stamping and Body Weld activities to support business plan priorities, leading production improvement strategies, and providing leadership to team leaders and team members in support of safety, quality, efficiency, and a customer-first focused culture.
As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also
- Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
- Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
- Create production improvement strategies relative to KPI (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) achievement and in translating those strategies into concrete action plans by use of floor management systems
- Provide supervision to Body Accuracy Team leaders and team members in overall strategies based on company policy management and priorities
- Share information, communicate goals, and coach team members to achieve objectives
- Develop and manage measurement schedule to ensure body, sub-assembly, stamping panels and machine measurements are completed accurately and on time
- Ensure measurement results are properly reported and monitored
- Ensure body fit is monitored daily and that TMs make proactive jig adjustment to maintain fit
- Collaborate with stamping and weld engineering, quality engineering, production and maintenance to make Body Accuracy improvements while following change point management procedures
- Develop and manage training plans for Body Accuracy Team members on metrology systems (CMM, FARO, MetraSCAN and ARGUS)
- Create and manage team member and team leader development plans
- Lead the Body Accuracy Team with a safety first mindset
- Support Total Ownership Pillars (5S, process ownership, and standardized work)
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
- This position will follow a three-shift rotation (dayshift, weekend shift and night shift)
- Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6 months' leadership experience in manufacturing (shop specific experience preferred)
- Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
What Will Set You Apart
- 2+ years' leadership experience in automotive manufacturing (shop specific experience preferred)
- Stamping and body weld line technical/systems experience
- Experience using metrology systems
