Group Fitness Instructor

The Group Fitness Instructor role is primarily responsible for leading and executing high intensity, effective, safe, and fun group exercise classes based in boxing, kickboxing, and functional strength training. The Group Fitness Instructor must bring his/her ‘A game’ every single class, and ensure the members experience an immersive workout which takes their fitness to a higher level. Group Fitness Instructors command the room with poise and confidence, and use member’s names frequently and corrects form as needed. Positive reinforcement is shared with abundance and members’ feel appreciated during and after each class. The Group Fitness Trainer directs the Assistant Trainer (where applicable) to ensure all members needs are met and oversees the responsibility for ensuring a spotless studio will greet the next incoming class of members. The Group Fitness Trainer will demonstrate strong customer service orientation, outstanding exercise technique, consultative selling skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a passion for the fitness industry and the RockBox unique approach to exercise. The role is responsible for working with the General Manager to meet or exceed all member acquisition and retention goals for the assigned studio(s) and is an ambassador for RockBox Fitness inside and outside the studio.

If you aren’t already taking RockBox classes, we would like you to take at least 1-2 classes each week, as loving RockBox and taking class is a key element of our culture. Trainer responsibilities:

• Maintain positive influence and vibe at all times
• Set up equipment for class
• Load functional exercises onto iPad Staff front desk
• Smile, Name, Greet
• Scan or check-in class participants
• Sell merchandise
• Sell memberships
• Assist “first-time experience ” prospects with registration on iPad
• Complete “first-time” information sheets
• Perform “Boxing Basics” for "First- Time Experience" prospects
• Wrap hands
• Demo and correct form on functional exercises
• Teach Classes
• Assist with Membership sales through the handoff process to front desk staff
• Put functional training equipment away at the end of class
• Clean studio (during and after class)
• Assist with weight and body fat measurements during Challenge weigh-ins

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
