October 2023 by Alexandra LoRicco, ALIGN Studio LLC strives to deliver a Group Fitness experience that promotes health, wellness, and a sense of community. Inspired by her fitness journey, Alexandra now seeks to share her knowledge and wisdom with her community and create a safe and fun place for everyone to come and pursue their journey.

Job description

-Instruct group exercise classes in an uplifting environment that welcomes all fitness levels. Effectively builds community within the class
-Provide modifications as needed
-Lead our members in developing sound healthy habits with our members through engaging leadership in our classes
- The ideal candidate holds a current certification in Barre, Pilates, Sculpt, and/or Group Exercise from a nationally certifying body (AFFA and ACE are preferred); or has a professional dance background

Schedule: Part Time Hours – minimum 2 hours a week

Hourly Rate: $30 - $40

Essential Functions:

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish ALIGN Studio’s mission and goals.
• Asks and answers questions from program participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being.
• Maintains working knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members and program participants connect with each other and the business.
• Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants’ capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture.
• Celebrates achievement of program participants related to program or personal goals, mastering of specific skills or overall health and well-being.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records.
• Follows ALIGN Studio LLC policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least two years of experience in Group Exercise settings.
• Experience in personal training, and health and wellness programming.
• Background in internal and external marketing/special events.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES/KNOW HOW:

• Understand the relationship of the public to the association, of staff to volunteer, and of staff to staff, and be able to enhance and cultivate those relationships effectively.
• Ability to interpret, carry out, and implement into classes/programs, the mission and goals of ALIGN Studio LLC.
• Work as an integral member of a staff team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with adults, youth, teens, seniors, and special populations.
• Degree in Exercise Science or Physical Education preferred.
• Barre, Mat Pilates, Sculpt, or personal trainer certification
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in fitness.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4 per week
