Form of workThe Tampa YMCA is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructor to teach one or multiple formats. Instructor must be an exceptional motivator as well as great at relationship building in our member-centered environment. The Group Exercise Instructor will deliver multiple options and a great experience during each class. Currently looking for yoga instructor.
Essential functions and responsibilities includes, but not limited to:
- Instruct members in maintaining exertion levels to maximize benefits from exercise routines.
- Monitor member's progress and adapt programs as needed.
- Observe members and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement.
- Evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.
- Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.
Completes all job related and other trainings as required.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Current certification in at least one of the following: YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise, ACE Group Exercise Instructor, AFAA Group Exercise Instructor or NETA Group Exercise Instructor. A secondary certification may also be required for certain formats.
