Groundskeeper Supervisor (135 AIA)

Job Summary:

The Groundskeeper Supervisor oversees and manages a team that is responsible for the maintenance and care of indoor and outdoor spaces within the facility. They ensure that the grounds are well-kept, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The supervisor coordinates the scheduling of tasks, assigns duties to team members, and monitors their performance to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Additionally, they may be responsible for budgeting, ordering supplies, and implementing landscaping or maintenance projects.

AIA Countertops is a fabricator of solid surface, granite, and quartz countertops, backsplashes, tables, and other products to the Residential, Commercial, RV, and Marine industries.

Responsibilities:

· Supervise a team of groundskeepers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.

· Plan and schedule daily tasks, including mowing, trimming, watering, planting, and general maintenance of outdoor spaces.

· Assign duties to groundskeeping staff based on priorities, skills, and workload.

· Inspect grounds regularly to ensure they are well-maintained, clean, and free from hazards.

· Coordinate with other departments or contractors for special projects or maintenance needs.

· Monitor equipment usage and maintenance, ensuring tools and machinery are properly maintained and serviced.

· Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and reorder as necessary.

· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, providing training and enforcing safety procedures.

· Assist in the development and implementation of landscaping plans or improvement projects.

· Handle administrative tasks such as record-keeping, budget management, and report generation.

· Communicate effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders regarding groundskeeping activities and issues.

· Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent maintenance needs, coordinating appropriate actions to address the situation.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field preferred.

· Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscaping, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role.

· Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, plant care, and grounds maintenance equipment.

· Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

· Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.

· Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficiency in basic computer applications such as email, spreadsheets, and word processing software.

· Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

· Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and operating machinery.

· Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and protocols.

Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed in a factory setting with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and debris.
