Groundskeeper Full-Time Day Shift

Position Purpose:

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa, ID is hiring a Groundskeeper to support the Engineering and Facilities Department. This position is responsible for maintenance of the campus grounds, providing a clean, safe, and pleasant environment in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible within the boundary of available resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Landscape and vehicular maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience working with small engine, motor mechanics, and irrigation repair preferred.
• Must have active driving privileges. If, during the course of employment, driving privileges change or colleague receives a driving citation, the colleague is required to notify their supervisor and/or HR.

What You Will Do:

• Assists the supervisor in maintaining accurate employee files, and attendance records.
• Cares for all gardens and flowerbeds by chemical and physical weeding, removes cigarettes and debris, and prunes flowers, shrubs, bushes, and trees using hand tools and/or power hedgers and power saws.
• Recognizes plant species by name and identifies diseases or problems associated with various plants, trees, and bushes.
• Conducts routine maintenance on grounds equipment and fleet vehicles.
• Writes work orders for repairs needed on equipment.
• Change oil, air filters, and tires on vehicles and equipment.
