Primary Purpose:
To manage the care, upkeep and repairs of facilities and grounds throughout the District on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED. Demonstrates successful skills and knowledge in the areas of supervision, organization, and upkeep of athletic facilities and grounds.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
To make sure work load is carried out equally to all grounds personnel. To report directly to the Director of Maintenance on all matters relating to District property, equipment and general personnel under his control.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Works cooperatively with the Director of Athletics for scheduling and time frames for repair and care of the athletic facility.
- Communicates information concerning the operations and scheduling to the Director of Maintenance on a routine basis.
- Insures appropriate maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds are completed in a timely and safe manner.
- Assigns tasks with priorities in order so as not to interfere with the use of facilities.
- Initiates annual evaluations for employees assigned to the Grounds Department.
- Recommends maintenance needs of the District to the Director of Maintenance for long term, emergency, and daily necessities.
- Reports all major malfunctions to the Director of Maintenance for proper methods and assistance in repairing.
- Insures that general maintenance and repairs to street and driveways on District property are completed on a timely and routine basis.
- Insures that vehicles used in the Grounds Department are inspected each morning prior to use and that any discrepancies found are noted.
- Attend workshops, seminars and demonstrations to further knowledge.

Equipment Used:
Lawnmowers, edgers, tractors, high pressure equipment, all yard maintain equipment.
Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
