JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Summary of the Job: Supervises and oversees ground maintenance staff, operations and landscape construction projects. Provide an aesthetically pleasing and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital and hospital owned off-site facilities. Assures staff is using proper maintenance techniques and is following Department Policy and Procedures. Completes requisitions for supplies and materials to keep the department well equipped with items needed. Hires and coordinates training of new staff, maintains work schedules, and equipment maintenance schedules necessary to direct the activities of a well-run and efficient department.

Minimum Qualifications: Five years’ experience with landscaping, horticulture, grounds or related field. One year of successful experience as a crew leader / supervisor and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required. Horticulture Service License. Landscape Contractor License. Valid and current state issued Driver’s License. Maintain and provide proof of Automobile Insurance (at his/her expense) in amounts which meet at least the minimum liability coverage limits required by the state of their residence. Clearance of driving record check; Driving records shall not contain any of the following: a suspended or revoked driver’s license, 3 or more moving violations in the past 36 months, 2 or more accidents in the past 36 months, 1 or more instances of driving under the influence (DUI) or driving while intoxicated (DWI) within the past 24 months, at fault in a fatal accident within the past 5 years, leaving the scene of an accident within the past 36 months, and/or reckless driving within the past 12 months.
