Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for folks who love to be in the trenches - literally. We are looking for people who want to learn a new trade in a niche industry. We are looking for hustlers like us who are interested in working with our hands to leave our mark and leave places better than they were before we arrived. We’re looking for guys who are READY. TO. GO. at 6am, even if it’s with the help of a Monster (or two, we don’t judge).

We’re looking for folks comfortable driving big trucks and who can pass drug tests when general contractors ask us to. For this specific role, experience operating a mini ex is a must. Operating our mini exes will be part of your daily tasks more often than not. Lastly, we are looking for people who are fun and have a sense of humor. These days are long. We’d rather work with folks that we like who fit into our culture than with folks who don’t fit that mold.

What We Do

We install lightning protection and grounding systems on facilities most susceptible to lightning damage – buildings in high elevation, data centers, hospitals, college campuses, and high-end homes. What that means is that we roll up our sleeves to protect people and assets at the highest heights and lowest depths of projects. Simply put, we have to install lightning protection on every part of a building that we don’t want to blow up. To do this, we operate Heavy Equipment like boom lifts and scissor lifts to get to the roof and mini excavators to dig around the bottom perimeter of the building to install ground loops which prevent lightning from entering the building. We do this mostly in the Atlanta market, but we do travel about 25% of the time.

A View into Our Day-to-Day as a Grounding Specialist

We report to our Holly Springs office at 6:00am every morning unless we are working out of town. From there, you’ll meet up with your foreman and project manager to discuss daily tasks. Daily tasks include digging trenches with mini exes when we can (and shovels when we can’t), welding cables and ground rods together, installing lightning protection on ground level generators and fences, and helping out the rooftop crews where we can. For this role, we’re really looking for folks who have experience in the seat of a mini ex but want to get their hands dirty at the same time.
