Grinder Operator

This position is a second shiftposition.

3:30PM -1:30 AM, Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Operate and maintain grinding machines to grind external or internal cylindrical or tapered surfaces of metal workpieces.

- Perform precision grinding operations to meet specified tolerances and surface finish requirements.

- Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.

-Ability straighten parts by hand or use of hydraulic press in preparation of grinding

-Select, dress, and mount grinding wheels on machines according to specifications.

- Monitor machine operations to detect any malfunctions or defects.

- Inspect workpieces for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.

- Perform quality inspections to ensure finished products meet quality standards.

- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating grinders or similar machinery is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of grinding techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.
- Knowledge of lathe operation is beneficial.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• Surface grinding: 2 years (Required)
• Double disc grinding: 2 years (Preferred)
• Blanchard Grinding: 2 years (Preferred)
