Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE: Coordinates and performs a variety of grounds keeping functions for the Souris Valley Golf Course.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Assist in monitoring and maintains golf course grounds in a safe and playable condition.
● Inspects golf course grounds and identifies maintenance issues and/or safety hazards.
● Assist in the maintenance of golf course greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
● Mows, water, fertilizes and applies chemicals to turf grasses.
● Operation of the irrigation system and repairs issues with pumps, water lines and sprinkler heads.
● Operations and maintain turf maintenance equipment, tools and/or vehicles.
● Assist in ordering and maintaining departmental supply inventories.
● Assist in preparing work schedules, assigning work duties and training personnel as required.
● Prepares and maintains maintenance records and documentation.
● Perform other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Degree in Horticulture Turf Management or worked 3 years on a golf course maintenance department; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
● Possess a valid North Dakota or Out of State Driver License.
● Pesticide Applicator License is required or willing to apply for one.
Required Knowledge Of:
● Principles and practice of golf course maintenance.
● Regulations and standards governing the maintenance of public golf course facilities.
● Equipment, tools and supplies common to golf course maintenance.
● Safety protocols relative to the handling of fertilizers and chemicals.
Work Environment:
● Work is performed in and around golf course facilities and equipment operation, chemical application and lifting
object weighing at least up to 50 pounds.
