Description
At Ventana Canyon, nestled in Tucson Santa Catalina foothills, the sun rises across our pristine 600-acre desert preserve with its flowering landscape, rolling hills, winding riverbeds, craggy canyons, and pine-topped peaks. The Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club is a beautiful and secluded member-owned country club with 36 holes of championship golf and 50 guest suites, rated as one of America's top golf resorts
Performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and related tasks as required. Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and works near moving mechanical part. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and in areas with fumes or airborne particles. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in extreme heat (non-weather) and experiences vibration. Noise level is loud. Pay starting at $15.50.$500 sign on bonusReceive first half ($250) after 90 days of employment and the other half ($250) after 6 months of employment.
Essential Functions:

• Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment.
• Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
• Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
• Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).
• Operates walking equipment in mowing greens collars and tees.
• Assists with golf course set-up procedures.
• Assists with fertilizer applications on tees, fairways and rough areas.
• Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
• Operates riding equipment in mowing fairways, approaches and rough.
• Operates sod cutter, trencher and tamper for routine projects.
• Operates dump truck and tractors for hauling purposes.
• Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.).
• Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the department manager.
• Attend staff meetings.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

• Required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to apply simple mathematical skills; to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Able to apply common sense understanding of carry out detailed but involved instructions furnished in written and oral, or diagram form.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• One-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must be fluent in English; bilingual preferred.
• Must possess good verbal, written and listening skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Meet the physical demands of the position: Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands to finger feels or handle, reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Regularly talks or hears and lifts up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
• Vision distance and color vision as well as depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Job involves working:
  - under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
  - under variable noise levels.
  - outdoors/indoors.
  - around fumes and/or odor hazards.

Possible days off are Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday. Start and end times are 5:30 am to 2:30 pm. Overtime is available, free lunch daily.
