NEW INFORMATION ON SHIFT DETAILS: Friday-Sunday 8am-1pm. 2-5 hours per day.
We need a helper to water alfalfa plants: Friday- Sunday. Holidays could be included.
1. Water in Greenhouse, outside and Field test plots.
2. Field plot watering.
May be asked to do the following:
Field activities:
• Hoeing
• Gopher control
• Grinding alfalfa samples
Greenhouse activities
• Upkeep of greenhouse and station as needed.
• Plant maintenance: staking
• Plant pollinations, seeding, potting
• Threshing
High School diploma or GED required would prefer College Grad
Competencies and/or other skills: Able to take initiative; self-starter; able to follow directions and complete work on time and in an accurate manner; organizing and time management; team player; work with limited supervision; good problem-solving skills (critical thinking); strong communication skills (written and verbally); have ability to multi-task and be able to adapt to change; able to operate research equipment (forage grinders, Laterals).
Environment: Qualified candidates must be able to:
Work outdoors and in greenhouses; able to lift up to 30lbs; will need to stand or sit for long periods of time; often work in dusty, dirty, wet and/or dry conditions; repetitive work is done at all times.
