Greenhouse Worker

Responsibilities:
- Assist with greenhouse operations, including planting, watering, pruning, weeding, propagating and harvesting plants

- Maintaining plant and plastic inventory
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the greenhouse facility
- Use hand tools and power tools to fabricate and assemble structures as needed
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment

- Providing information about plant care to customers, answering questions about specific plants or types of plants.

- Greet and assist all customers with orders & questions both on phone and in person

Skills:
- Experience working in a warehouse or greenhouse setting is preferred but not necessary
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Demonstrate effective customer service

- Ability to use tact and courtesy during professional interactions

Physical Requirements:

- Regular lifting and carrying of up to 50lbs

- Pushing or pulling carts on casters weighing 200+ lbs

- Standing up to 8 hours daily

- Constant bending and stooping

- Must be able to work in all greenhouse conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and extreme hot/cold temperatures

- Ability to walk all 1.5 acres of the greenhouses regularly and daily

Work Hours:

January through February is an estimated 30 hour work week, 4-5 days a week. March through June is an estimated 55 hour work week, 5-6 days a week. July through August is an estimate 30 hour work week, 4-5 days a week. September through December is an estimated 40 hour work week, 5 days a week. All work hours are based on seasonal requirements, more or less may be necessary depending on what it takes to perform the job well. Must be willing to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
