Greenhouse Technician/Laborer

Job Description

As the successful candidate for this position, you will play a key role in supporting various teams within our organization. A significant portion of your time will be spent on your feet working with industrial equipment. Your duties will encompass pot washing, general housekeeping of the work area, and assisting in cleaning greenhouse spaces that can reach temperatures up to 90° F. Additionally, you will be consistently providing support to the greenhouse operations, collaborating closely with teams in Pollination, Seed Processing, Harvesting, and Planting. While some automation is in place, this role is predominantly hands-on and requires manual labor.

This position will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job's functions and operate under immediate supervision. A strong commitment to the facility Safety program is essential, which includes adhering to all safety policies and attending regular company-sponsored safety meetings.

Working hours: 40-hour work week, with variable start and end times dependent on hiring group, this is weekend work and extended hours or shift work during peak seasons. Hours subject to vary with current restrictions. Ability to work holidays, as assigned.

General Qualifications:

• High school diploma and 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area required

• Fast learner and flexible to change tasks multiple times a day in a fast-paced environment.

Skills:

• Activities will require bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing

• Must be able to read and write, to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English, and to perform assigned tasks accurately.

• Proficient with current technology (smartphone or tablet).

• Must be able to adhere to all facility SOPs when carrying out assigned tasks and to support all site safety requirements.

• Must be able to function as a team member, and to take daily direction from supervisors and managers.

• Being able to climb 3 ft tall structures

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
