JOB SUMMARY:

Overall Summary of Function

The Production Designer is responsible for overseeing and executing various design projects, with a focus on conference and tradeshow materials. They will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless transition from pre-production design to production and printing, and contribute to the development of visually stunning proposals, presentations, and marketing collateral. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and a proven ability to multitask under tight deadlines.

You will play an integral role in client-facing conversations focusing on corporate and non-corporate event projects. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and objectives, offering guidance on creative strategies that align with their vision and brand identity. Your expertise in design and deep understanding of industry trends will enable you to effectively communicate the benefits of various design approaches, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering long-lasting relationships. By acting as a trusted advisor and creative partner, you will contribute to the overall success of Blueprint Studios and help our clients bring their event visions to life.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

At Minimum Duties & Responsibilities

● Participate in internal and client meetings to gather project specifications, goals, and audience insights

● Develop and present multiple design mock-ups, effectively communicating the rationale behind each concept

● Create design templates for proposals, briefs, reports, and presentations

● Occasionally collaborate with the CAD team to develop floorplans, wayfinding, and 3D elements for events

● Design materials for events and conferences, including environmental displays and posters

● Ensure consistent branding and visual identity across all project deliverables

● Incorporate design feedback, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to continuous improvement

● Adhere to accessibility guidelines and design constraints for documents and graphics

● Work closely with the Art Director on event planning and design, including furniture selection and layout

● Coordinate work orders, maintain a production board, and communicate with sales representatives

● Provide price estimates for custom print projects and manage external vendor relationships

● Travel as required for site visits, measurements, and event space assessments

● Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment

● Prepare graphic files for print and oversee print production


QUALIFICATIONS:

At Minimum Training, Education & Experience

● Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field

● 5+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably within the event industry

● Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, and typography

● Proficiency in design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite

● Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

● Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines

● Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team

● Willingness to travel as needed for site visits and event execution

● The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.

● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

● The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to heavy.

● The temperature will vary from hot to cold depending on the weather.

● Meet tight deadlines

● Occasional travel required
