Job Summary
The Natural History Museum of Utah seeks a part-time Graphic Designer to assist its award winning marketing and communications team. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Museum's Sr. Graphic Designer to help create engaging and on-brand graphics for print and digital media; attend press checks; and manage project details and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Sr. Graphic Designer to design and create print, digital, and environmental graphics for all Museum departments. Job responsibilities include: • Work under tight deadlines with quick turnarounds • Maintain brand consistency Museum-wide • Manage graphics projects from conception to completion, implementing feedback from the Sr. Graphic Designer • Collaborate with Museum colleagues and external stakeholders to inform design projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Two years professional graphics experience (or equivalency) and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or Illustration or a related field preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite is a must, as is a desire to help advance the brand and mission of the Natural History Museum of Utah.
