The Innovation Foundation at Oklahoma State University is in search of a motivated, self-driven Grants Management Specialist (GMS). Applicants must have a passion for their work, be innovative, and possess strong verbal and written communication and analytic skills. This position will coordinate pre-award, award, and post-award functions within the organization’s Grants Management lifecycle. This person will also act as a liaise between internal and external project stakeholders and funding agencies, providing support in a variety of activities related to implementation. The GMS plays a critical role in the effective administration and management of grants and sponsored research projects, which includes fiscal management of budgets. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with grant regulations, facilitating the grant application process, and providing essential support to researchers and faculty members. This autonomous role will oversee 3-5 grants at any point in time & is essential to monitor deliverables to the funder.

Bachelor's degree and five years of related work experience. Education may be substituted for years of experience.

The Innovation Foundation at OSU seeks a Grants Management Specialist with several key attributes to thrive within the dynamic Grants Management team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of grant regulations to ensure meticulous compliance. Exceptional communication skills are vital, enabling effective collaboration with researchers, funding agencies, and internal stakeholders. A proactive and organized approach is highly valued, as it allows for the efficient management of multiple grants simultaneously. Additionally, candidates should exhibit a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with evolving grant-related policies and procedures. Overall, the successful candidate will contribute to the foundation's mission by facilitating the responsible administration of grants and the advancement of impactful innovative initiatives.Grants Management Experience: Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of working in Grants Management, preferably in a similar academic or research institution, nonprofit organization, or government agency. This experience should encompass both pre-award and post-award grant administration. Knowledge of Grant Regulations: Familiarity with federal, state, and institutional regulations pertaining to grants and sponsored research is essential. Candidates should have experience navigating compliance requirements, such as those from funding agencies like NIH, NSF, USDA, ODAFF, EDA, OBO or private foundations. Proposal Development: Proficiency in assisting with grant proposal development, including budget preparation, grant narrative writing, and adherence to funding agency guidelines, is valuable. Budget Management: Experience in managing grant budgets, tracking expenditures, and conducting financial reconciliations is crucial to ensure responsible fiscal management. Reporting and Documentation: Candidates should have a background in generating reports related to grant financials, progress, and compliance. Attention to detail in record-keeping is important. Training and Support: Experience providing guidance, training, and support to stakeholders on grant-related matters is highly beneficial. This includes familiarity with institutional policies and procedures. Subawards and Contracts: Experience managing subawards, contracts, and agreements associated with grants is an advantage, as it involves coordination with external partners. Grant Closeout: Familiarity with grant closeout procedures, including final reporting, equipment/property disposition, and financial reconciliation, is a plus. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively liaising with researchers, funding agencies, and internal stakeholders. Organizational Skills: Given the multifaceted nature of grant management, candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills to handle multiple grants concurrently and meet deadlines. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in relevant software and tools for financial tracking, reporting, and data analysis is often required. Requires firm skills in Microsoft Office Suite programs. Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of related work experience. Excel proficiency
