The Ohio Department of Health supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require occasional attendance in the office for training, meetings, and other operational needs. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.

What You'll Do:

Thanks to a recent promotion, our Bureau of Infectious Diseases (BID) is searching for a GRANTS ADMINISTRATION EXPERT to help manage the federal and pass-through funding for public health activities.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist with federal funding applications & reporting (Immunization, Vaccines for Children, Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity [ELC])
    • write annual progress report narratives
    • monitor quarterly progress
    • fiscal reporting
  • Help create budgets and track expenditures for BID program activities.
  • Provides direction and coordination on grant administration duties:
  • Coordinate, formulate, and implement relevant policies/procedures
  • Partner with BID programs, Finance staff and ODH's Grant Services Unit (GSU)
  • Coordinate activity between subgrantees and GSU
  • Work closely with BID Finance Program Manager to execute contracts with local agencies and prevent duplicate funding

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Serve as in-house technical adviser on grant-related questions
  • Coordinate planning with agency staff to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Research, compile, and develop materials for non-routine issues as needed (e.g., legislation, budget funding, grants, contracts, program policy development).Represent BID at meetings & conferences, makes presentations, participates in ODH Infectious Disease On- Call rotation (fielding
  • Reportable Disease calls from local agencies), and serves as needed on disaster recovery/business resumption/incident response teams (may include the conduct of operations on a 24/7 basis at remote locations).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.

OR 

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration; AND
  • 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

OR 

  • Completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File; AND
  • 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

OR 

  • 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123.

OR 

  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
