Grant Writer And Marketing

Conducts basic research for potential funding sources and maintains databases; supports administration in developing proposals. Responsible for writing proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects and for submitting timely and accurate reports for all existing grant funded projects. Provides strategic and operational support for all FHH fundraising activities. Responsible for marketing plans and outreach activities/events for FHH. Supports and follows through with the vision, mission, goals and objectives of Family Healthcare of Hagerstown.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Successfully writes and completes HRSA grant applications to include Service Area Competition (SAC) and annual Budget Progress Report (PPR). Takes the lead role in identifying and compiling all required information for submission of grant application and progress reports.
• Researches and identifies grant opportunities for program and capital projects that are applicable to the mission of FHH. Identifies likely sources to include local, state and federal government and affiliated agencies, as well as foundations and corporations. Responsible for the completion and submission of funding applications.
• Successfully manages ongoing activities related to the award of grants by foundations, corporate funding sources, and governmental agencies. Maintains professional conduct as a representative of FHH.
• Responsible for developing, implementing and executing an outreach/marketing plan to reach key audiences, including current patients, prospective patients, the local healthcare and nonprofit sectors, the Washington County community in general, and the FQHC community.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
• Practical experience in non-profit fundraising preferred
• Three or more years minimum proven experience in grant writing
• Three or more years experience working with donors/community outreach activities
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Experience working in deadline-driven environment
• Computer skills and proficiency required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to speak write and understand the English language.

Physical:

Moderate physical effort required. Intermittent sitting with freedom of movement. Occasional walking, bending and lifting.

Mental:

Frequent periods of concentration with attention to details with frequent opportunity for diversification of tasks. Must be able to work flexible hours. Able to work independently and manage time effectively. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Able to work well in team environment, handle multiple assignments.

Work performed in modern well-equipped environment. Interfaces with fellow

employees on a daily basis. Uses office equipment daily, multi-line telephone, fax machine, copier, shredder, and computer.
