Summary: The Grant Writer will play a key role in securing funding opportunities to support our programs and initiatives, enabling us to continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by addiction. This position can be hybrid or remote and/or full-time, part-time, or per diem.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Grant Research and Identification:
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
- Stay informed about funding trends, priorities, and requirements relevant to Phoenix House's mission.
Proposal Development:
- Collaborate with program managers, finance, and other stakeholders to gather information necessary for proposal development.
- Write and submit high-quality grant proposals, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and deadlines.
- Develop compelling narratives that effectively communicate Phoenix House's mission, programs, and impact.
Grant Management:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of funded projects and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Collaborate with program staff to collect and report data necessary for grant reporting.
- Work closely with finance to provide accurate financial information for grant reporting.
Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential funders.
- Attend relevant meetings, conferences, and events to network and represent Phoenix House.
Grant Strategy and Planning:
- Contribute to the development of an annual grant strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
- Work collaboratively with the development team to integrate grant efforts into the overall fundraising strategy.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, etc.) is required; Master's degree is a plus.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience in grant writing, with a track record of successfully securing grants from various sources.
- Strong research and analytical skills to identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and compellingly.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Knowledge of addiction treatment and prevention services is desirable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
