Job description

This position works closely with the Grant Principal Investigators and other Grant team members to successfully fulfill the obligations to the grant and will collaborate with various offices at GVSU.
This is a 12-month, part-time (25 hours per week), Adjunct AP position that has the potential of renewal for subsequent years through July 2027.
Primary Duties:
  • Oversee grant office operations in collaboration with the leadership.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships between the U.S. Department of Education Grant and partner school districts; including and not limited to correspondence with district grant point person, local PK-12 administrators, and project participating teachers.
  • Collaborate with the university’s Admissions, Billing, Financial Aid and Scholarship, Registrar, and Grant Account Offices before and at the beginning of each semester to ensure fully aware of grant support needed from related university offices.
  • Communicate with the English to Speakers of Other Languages faculty, adjuncts, program leaders, and CECI Office of Certification and Accreditation accordingly with grant and students’ requests.
  • Collaborate with the grant partner school leadership to recruit teachers and enroll them into the Grant Program.
  • Coordinate and offer Recruitment and Grant Information sessions.
  • Coordinate with partner schools and communicate with project participants to successfully conduct “Book Events”.
  • Lead grant research communication and explain its components to potential participants.
  • Coordinate and lead grant Graduate Assistants to perform data collection related field work.
  • Act as central contact for the grant related questions; report grant-related issues to leadership.
  • Collaborate with the CECI Office of Certification and Accreditation to offer Certification and Accreditation orientations.
  • Communicate with project participants on the grant updates, tasks, and data needs.
  • Manage grant information/data collection and prepare materials for grant reports; ensure grant projects’ development, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Master's degree in education or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in education or related field.
  • Willingness and ability to work late hours during weekdays, and on weekends, and travel within and beyond 50 miles radius as needed.
  • Familiar with educational technology.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for partner school relationship sustainability, new relationship building, and support the grant work at the local school level, as well as collaboration with stakeholders to all grant partner districts/schools.
  • Willingness to travel to academic conferences when needed.
  • Strong skills in written and verbal communication, organization, and conceptualization.
  • Strong skills in cultural competence and collaboration, including an ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and within large and small teams on various projects.

  • Proficiency with office technology and software desired.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful PK-12 teaching or leadership experience.
  • Record of successful project or program management.
  • Experience with teacher preparation and grant work.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with adult learners.
Working Conditions:
  • Normal office environment. Some travel and evening/weekend work may be required.
SALARY: $35,568 (this position does not have medical, dental, vision, or retirement benefits)

CAMPUS: This position will work from the Grand Rapids campus.
