Requirements
Licensing, Certification and Qualification:
- Execute grain merchandising, trading, logistics, hedging and other activities related to the total grain merchandising and handling revenue.
- Develop, advise and assist our member producers with grain marketing strategies to produce increased profits for both the members and CFS through the Grain Price Protection Service (GPPS) program

- Analyze markets, supply and demand, logistics and other market factors to make and execute grain trading and hedging decisions within the overall grain department strategy.
- Frequent contact with end users, producers, market analysts, transportation providers, brokers and others to gather market intelligence to be formulated into trading strategies.
- Establish grain prices (daily bids), margins and service charges within the parameters established by the VP Grain Division.
- Sells grain to competitive buyers, giving preference to cooperative organizations.
- Work with all grain accounting staff to execute an accurate DPR and market position report daily.
- Direct and oversee grain shipment logistics of both rail and truck.
- Develop marketing strategies for patrons and assists the Grain Marketing Advisors with proper execution of maximizing returns per acre.
- Prepare and analyze various reports as directed by the VP Grain Division including daily position reports (DPR)
- Active involvement in budgeting, capital planning, strategy planning and other similar activities.
- Adheres to the grain policy approved by the Board of Directors.
- Know and follow all company safety policies/procedures. Be a champion of safety within the company, setting a strong example for the entire team.
- Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or management
Requirements
Licensing, Certification and Qualification:
- Four-year post-secondary degree in agriculture related field (preferred, not required)
- 2-5 years of grain marketing or other ag related experience (required)
- Strong communication, analytical and organization skills
- Demonstrated strong collaboration with multiple parties working towards common goals and outcomes.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and follow through
- Demonstrated self-starter with high level of personal accountability and a willingness and ability to make decisions with little or no supervision and guidance.
- Ability to work with computers, computer software and grain accounting systems
- Series 3 & 30 brokerage licenses (preferred)
