What would you do as a Grain Elevator Superintendent

By developing and administering an effective program, you will prevent environmental incidents and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. Collaboration will also be a key aspect of this role, as you will work closely with internal departments to ensure that grain needs across all facilities are being met. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing operating costs, developing and executing capital plans and projects, and leading maintenance and reliability programs.

Your focus on continuous improvement, both in terms of people and processes, will drive the success of our operations. By coordinating with grain merchandising, you will ensure positive customer relationships and effective planning to provide timely and cost-effective movement of grain. What you need to be successful

To excel in the role of Grain Elevator Superintendent at Didion Inc., the following skills and qualifications are necessary:

  • A bachelor's degree in Agriculture Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. However, a high school diploma and at least 5 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • You should have at least 5 years of experience in related Grain Elevator operations, demonstrating a solid understanding of the industry and its operations.
  • In addition, a minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience in Grain Elevator operations is required, showcasing your ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Proficiency in standard software applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 is essential. Strong computer competency is necessary to navigate and effectively utilize digital tools.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are vital for effective coordination and decision-making within the role. Strong interpersonal skills will facilitate collaboration with diverse team members.
  • Knowledge of grain handling operations or equivalent manufacturing technologies is crucial.
  • Familiarity with applicable safety and environmental programs and requirements, as well as inventory control programs and requirements, is important to maintain compliance.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is necessary to communicate effectively with team members within and external to the department.
