Job description

To be eligible for PGE's Internship program, you must be at least 18 years old and have met one of the following criteria:
A high school senior that has enrolled in a college or trade school
A current college or trade school student who is returning to college or a trade school as a full-time student
A recent 2022-2023 college graduate
You must provide verification of your student status by submitting your college transcript (an unofficial one is acceptable) or letter of acceptance to a college or trade school with your online application. You will have the opportunity to upload your documents during the online application process.

Graduate Business Intern - Legal
At PGE, our legal team provides legal representation for the company, research, writing, advocacy, and compliance. You would have the opportunity to develop skills and learn about practice for an in-house legal department.
In this role you will:

  • Learn about PGE as company and about the energy industry and the practice of law within this industry.
  • Contribute to in-house legal department through doing legal research and writing assignments.
  • Learn basic legal document drafting skills, including basic contract formation, regulatory filings.
  • Contribute to PGE's corporate compliance obligations as a regulated utility and operating business.

Job Function Summary
Provides support to the business in various functions throughout PGE.

PGE's internship program allows its participants to gain professional learning that offers meaningful, practical, work-related experience while providing support for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Departmental Support: May perform administrative, coordination or technical tasks, such as completing spreadsheets in support of department assigned.
  • Research and Analysis: May perform research and analysis under general supervision. May gather qualitative or quantitative data and develop reports or spreadsheets.
  • Internship Program Events: May participate in company-sponsored internship activities.

Education/Experience/Certifications
  • Currently an actively enrolled graduate student (recent graduate accepted) in good standing and pursuing a graduate degree in Law.
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred.
  • Some prior work experience preferred.
  • Requires a valid Driver's License and a history of safe driving practices.

  • Driving/travel/commute: Daily within service territory - Occasionally (one to two times a month or less)
  • Computer use. (Use computer regularly for entire work shift)

PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements; and will have a combination of in-the-office and working offsite. This individual must be based within 75 miles of the work location and will be required to work in-the-office at least once a week. However, these arrangements may change due to business needs or changes in responsibility.

Compensation Range:
$16.00 - $36.00
Actual total compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and education.
