Grand Canyon University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Campus Technology. The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for learning, developing, and implementing SharePoint solutions for the department, as well as the campus.
What you will do:
- Administer MySQL, MS SQL Server, and NoSQL databases in Azure or on-premises.
- Administer MS SQL Server data warehouse in Azure.
- Monitor health and performance of all databases.
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
- Implement required security measures to protect data (e.g., encryption at rest and in transit).
- Apply new patches and version upgrades, following best practices for change management.
- Tune SQL queries and optimize database performance.
- Test database disaster recovery procedures.
- Document and follow database policies, standards, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need:
- Understanding of networking, firewalls, and load-balancing.
- Knowledge of database queries, theory, design.
- Knowledge of structured query language (SQL).
- Proficient in operating systems (e.g., Windows and/or Linux).
- Proficient in writing SQL Queries.
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server.
- Familiarity with Python, or Powershell scripting.
- Familiarity with data warehousing.
- Strong enthusiasm for learning.
- Strong technical aptitude and computer skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
