The Role
As a GPU Compute Performance Architect you will help shape the design of some of the most complex and high performance processors in the world. Along with analyzing and improving software and hardware architectures for today's industry leading applications, you will also ensure AMDs continued leadership in processor design through influencing performance design tools and methodologies to meet performance expectations of future computing systems and workloads.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in improving compute application performance. You should be able to compile, run and profile GPU Compute applications and determine architecture performance limiters. Performance model development, performance triage and pre-silicon performance verifications skills are also needed to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities
- Identify and characterize key GPU computing applications in HPC, machine intelligence and emerging markets.
- Analyze application performance to identify architecture limiters on silicon and pre-silicon GPU processors and systems.
- Work with software and architecture teams to identify issues and improve application performance.
- Influence, design and/or develop performance tools and models to facilitate GPU application performance analysis.
- Architect hardware and software solutions for improving compute application performance.
What we would like to see
- 5 years industry experience in application performance analysis at architecture level.
- Experience developing micro architecture performance models.
- Ability to optimize software code for improved performance on new architectures.
- Strong processor architecture and parallel programming knowledge.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and good coding skills are required.
- Must be proficient in English verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
