This position is required to be onsite full time.

The Role:
  • Engineer, Design, Build and Implement machinery, tools & equipment for the Double Down Manufacturing Optimization Projects in propulsion.
  • Coaching / Mentoring / Training of newer / less experienced team members
  • Equipment Runoff @ OEM
  • Collaboration with the Operations Team on Program Deliverables
  • PFMEAs Review / Simulation Review / Control Plans / Launch Deliverables
  • Plant Equipment Install / Debug / Launch / Continuous Improvement
  • Establishes equipment installation board and review weekly/daily with OEM and contractors
  • Develop and lead the PPAP review meetings in area of responsibility utilizing the PPAP checklist, capturing exceptions.
  • Lead the lessons learned gathering activity and feedback the information to the central process team for BOE/BOP updates
  • Closure of all ME open issues for Launch Deliverables

  • Direct the design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants to produce high-quality parts and propulsion products.
  • Monitor expenditures and timing for the program and/or equipment, ensuring spending stays within allocated budget.
  • Provide technical direction to less experienced execution engineers.
  • Flexibility to work during holidays and weekends to support installation of equipment at Plants.
  • Provide technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources.
  • Develop and test of advanced process technology.
  • Equipment Runoff @ OEM.
  • Develop and maintain necessary documentation (PFD, PFMEA, PCP)
  • Leverage GD&T skillsets to ensure manufacturing equipment, tooling, assembly processes, and quality verifications procedures meet design requirement.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Bill of Equipment (BOE), Bill of Process (BOP), Bill of Sediment Elimination (BOSE) and Bill of Operations (BOO).
  • Travel as required.
  • Collaboration with the Operations Team on Program Deliverables:
  • PFMEAs Review / Simulation Review / Control Plans / Launch Deliverables.
  • Plant Equipment Install / Debug / Launch / Continuous Improvement.
  • Project management for the manufacturing optimization Execution.
  • Follow standardized processes as defined in PoME for program execution.
  • Participate in the Launch Wall meetings.
  • Establishes equipment installation board and review weekly/daily with OEM and contractors.
  • Supports plant floor equipment installation, tracking and countermeasures.
  • Develop and lead the PPAP review meetings in area of responsibility utilizing the PPAP checklist, capturing exceptions.

  • Lead the lessons learned gathering activity and feedback the information to the central process team for BOE/BOP updates.
  • Closure of all ME open issues for Launch Deliverables.

Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of assembly or machining process development experience in Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering discipline with plant floor experience.
  • Program Execution Experience [Equipment Install through SORP and launch]
  • Experience in Managing OEMs [Program Management / OEM Timing / Open Issues / Financial Forecasts]
  • Experience in Leading a project [Coordinating Resources / Updates to Leadership / Status Reporting / Tracking Timelines]
  • Experience in troubleshooting equipment [Problem Solving / Debug]
  • Competency in GD&T.
  • Understanding of Pneumatic, Mechanical, and Control drawings.
  • Understanding / Application of Part Locating / Mechanics / Machine Design
  • Understanding of Theory of Constraints.
  • Experience with Time Cycle Diagrams and Man / Machine Charts
  • Practical Problem-Solving Skills [Formal Training / Practical Application]
  • Experience with PFMEAs / Simulation / Fastening Equipment / Servo Presses / Sealing Dispensers / Cameras / Error Proofing Devices]
  • Ability and willingness to work Non-Standard Hours [Early Morning, Late Evenings and some Weekends and Holidays]
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Strong technical knowledge & ability in process engineering disciplines and product development process

  • Experience in process development, specification, procurement, and qualification of equipment & tooling.
  • Solid understanding of high-volume manufacturing & assembly processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
  • Demonstrated interest and ability to learn and apply agile methodologies throughout project.
  • Ability to use computer, interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and learn new systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated understanding of plant floor and design for manufacturability.
  • ME assignments with successful individual achievements or strong team-based achievements.
  • Knowledge of or experience with propulsion processes BOE, BOP, BOSE and BOO preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Team Center, Microsoft Project, Simulation.
  • Statistical problem solving training
  • Proficient working in development environments
