About us

North Valley Veterinary Center has been the local source for high quality medicine and customer service for over 36 years. Still owned by Dr. Larry Bosma, we continue the motto of “A Passion for Pets, Compassion for People”. We have attracted and retained high quality veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. We strive to have 3-4 technicians and 2 CSR’s per doctor, with 30 minute exams. We are proud to have a creative, supportive and friendly environment and we take this very seriously!

We are open to new grads as well as experienced veterinarians. We love to teach and progress in our medical knowledge to provide the best medicine possible to our patients. With our hours having a mix of general practice and urgent care services, you have the ability to work in the type of environment you desire. This variety of cases provide for great experience with a well trained staff to ensure the least amount of pressure on you. We like to say doctors are trained to diagnose, prescribe and do surgery. The team will manage the rest for you in a way you will feel comfortable with!

About this role

Our day to day responsibilities are what you would expect of any dedicated veterinarian. Below are a few of the key responsibilities and skills we are looking for.

• Great client communication about their pets visit, following up on blood work/lab results, going over x rays etc.
• Examining pets and providing treatment plans with clients and patients in mind.
• Completing exam notes in a timely manner to ensure our good record keeping
• Basic surgical skills; spays, neuters, laceration repair, soft tissue etc. We currently refer out our orthopedic surgeries.

Located just an hour north of Los Angeles gives you the opportunity for more affordable living and ability to enjoy the attractions of the city without the stress and expense of city living. Lancaster is a great high desert town that is anchored by Plant 42 which houses Boeing, Northrup, Lockheed Martin and NASA. Additionally Edwards Air Force Base brings a lot of our service members into our local economy. Additionally, Las Vegas and Mammoth Mountain (great skiing) are only a few hours away. Beaches and mountains are close by providing lots to do without a ton of travel time.

Our offer

• Salary of $250,000 a year with a 4 day work week.
• Medical, dental and vision 100% covered for DVMs. We have Kaiser and Health Net options
• 2 weeks paid vacation available immediately
• CE, license, DEA reimbursements up to $2500 per year
• Opportunities to expand services into specialty interests you have such as acupuncture, orthopedics, exotics, natural etc.
