Position:Golf Equipment Manager at Foothills Golf Course

(Full-Time, Non-Exempt)

Hiring Salary Range: $58,007 - $68,243

Full Salary Range: $58,007 - $78,480

The Equipment Manager is responsible for performing all of the service, maintenance and repair work for the fleet of golf carts, various mowers, tractors and other equipment at Foothills Golf Course. Evening work may be required on an emergency basis. Weekend and holiday work required on a rotating schedule.

Job Duties:

  • Performs services, preventative maintenance and repairs to all golf course vehicles and equipment.
  • Establishes a preventive maintenance program for all golf course vehicles and equipment.
  • Keeps an adequate inventory by ordering necessary parts to accomplish daily repairs and services.
  • Repairs and maintains gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic and non-hydraulic units.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
  • Responsible for establishing a preventative maintenance program.
  • Establishes and performs reel grinding and adjustments as required.
  • Accurately completes repair orders, time sheets, purchase orders and other forms.
  • Train, supervise, evaluate, and plan workflow for assigned personnel.
  • Assist other departments with District events and course maintenance activities as needed.
  • Maintain and care for repair shop facilities.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.
  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Correct or inform supervisor of any hazards; communicate issues/complaints to supervisor as needed.
  • Maintain accurate SDS records and fuel storage site records in accordance with state requirements.
  • Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment: Requires standing for 75% to 100% of the day. This position requires working both indoors and outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme cold, heat, sun, wet, snow, humid or icy conditions. Frequent exposure to noise, fumes, dusts, mists, gases, chemical hazards, and ultraviolet rays produced by ARC welding equipment. Constant exposure to grasses, molds, fertilizers, solvents, oils, greases, gasoline and diesel fuels. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work near moving mechanical parts.


  • Graduation from high school or completion of GED.
  • Five (5) years experience equipment/automotive repair, vocational and/or trade school; or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and years of experience.
  • Current certifications in AED/CPR or the ability to obtain such certifications within sixty (60) days of employment.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within thirty (30) days of employment. Must be insurable by the District carrier at the onset and for the duration of employment.
  • Requires a working knowledge of hydraulics and gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Knowledge of methods, means, and materials necessary to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and turf equipment include golf carts, mowing equipment, and turf trucksters.
  • Working knowledge and competence in the use of welding equipment, tire-changing equipment and related mechanic's and shop tools including reel and bedknife grinders.
  • Must have a complete set of hand tools needed to carry out assigned duties.
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and general office equipment (computer, copier, fax, phone, etc.). Proficiency with applicable computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, lift and exhibit manual dexterity with the ability to handle objects, and frequent stooping or lying down with overhead work 15% to 50% of the day. Must be able to occasionally push, pull or balance. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift /move a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted and lift /move a maximum of 75 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include near acuity, far acuity, and depth perception and color vision. The position requires the sense of smell and touch. Requires the ability to communicate both orally and in writing and execute oral and written instructions with understanding. Must have the ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication.
