Position Summary
Serves as a golf maintenance worker for the Traditions at Chevy Chase Golf Course. Responsibilities include maintaining and landscaping the Golf Course using motorized, electrical or hand equipment and tools. Ensures that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the Wheeling Park District and Chevy Chase Country Club.
Essential Job Duties
- Mow fairways, tees, greens and roughs on a scheduled basis.
- Maintain trees and shrubs, to include watering, fertilizing and pruning.
- Using weed eater, trim tree wells, Golf Course perimeter, eater edges/banks and other boundary-type areas.
- Rakes and cleans sand traps with both motorized or hand equipment.
- Services ball washers, water containers and trash receptacles daily.
- As directed, changes cups and relocates tee markers.
- Maintains the landscape and flower beds around the Golf Course and clubhouse.
- Work as scheduled.
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.

- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
One to three years of experience in Golf Course Maintenance. Ability to operate all forms of light and heavy Golf Course Maintenance equipment. Must be able to prioritize and follow/carry out a variety of assignments. Able to work and complete assignments with minimal supervision. Must be able to read, write, and speak in English.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate consistent attendance and on-time arrival.
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
- CPR/AED certification or be able to earn within 60 days.

Working Conditions
- Most activities will be performed outdoors.
- Driving to other park facilities will require the worker to be outside.
- Employee may be exposed to cleaning agents and toner chemicals.
