Position Summary
The Golf Coach/Athletic Fundraiser is responsible for planning, organizing, and coaching the College's golf team and to oversee all fundraising activities for the athletics programs as well as assist with general recruitment for the college.
SALARY: Salary Schedule E ($55,038.00 - $72,188.00)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coaches varsity golf.
  2. Evaluates and recruits top caliber student athletes and maintains a competitive, quality golf team.
  3. Recruits and manages golf student managers.
  4. Manages activities of members of CACC golf team.
  5. Advises students and monitors their academic progress.
  6. Provides academic and career advice to students and promote leadership and enrichment experiences.
  7. Coordinates and ensures safe and reliable transportation for student athletes.
  8. Assists in annual student athlete activities and events.
  9. Plans, organizes, and participates in annual fall and spring student athlete workshops and annual student athlete orientation sessions.
  10. Enforces college policies and Student Code of Conduct with student athletes.
  11. Models professional and appropriate behavior at all times to student athletes. Immediately reports any violations of College, ACCC, or NJCAA policy to the Athletic Director.
  12. Provides for the continuous development and improvement of the CACC golf program.
  13. Manages the golf program by assisting the Athletic Director with maintaining golf eligibility; maintaining national letters of intent and scholarships; supervising assistant and volunteer coaches, scheduling golf games, scrimmages, tournaments and events; ensures payment of umpires and officials.
  14. Works with Athletic Director on the administrative aspects of the athletic programs such as recruiting, scouting, practice preparation and supervision, tournament preparation and supervision, public relations efforts, fundraising, and monitoring the academic progress of student athletes.
  15. Immediately informs Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and Chief of Police of game schedule changes.
  16. Coordinates daily care of golf house and auxiliary buildings and grounds and provides security for all equipment and facilities.
  17. Establishes and maintains a positive network with high school/college coaches and community leaders.
  18. Prepares, submits, and manages budget requests, purchase requests, and travel requests in accordance with local and Alabama Community College System policies and procedures.
  19. Prepares and executes strategic and data based fundraising efforts for the golf program.
  20. Participates and coordinates fundraising events for golf team in compliance with local and state policies and procedures and state ethics laws.
  21. Responsible for developing, creating, and coordinating fundraising activities and events for the Athletic Department in compliance with local and state policies and procedures and state ethics laws.
  22. Accountable for raising monetary funds of an annual predetermined amount for the Athletic Department.
  23. Maintains a database of all fundraising efforts, activities, and events.
  24. Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies for the department.
  25. Maintains appropriate office hours and work schedule.
  26. Serves on divisional and institutional committees.
  27. Participates in college functions and serves on college committees as assigned.
  28. Assists in revision of Student Athlete handbook.
  29. Assists in recruitment and retention of students.
  30. Participates in professional growth activities.
  31. Assists in implementing college policies, objectives and functions in accordance with college philosophy and procedures.
  32. Prepares necessary reports for the department required by the ACCC and NJCAA and assists Athletic Director in preparing reports as requested.
  33. Submits student services forms and data in a timely manner as directed.
  34. Prepares required reports as required by Central Alabama Community College, the Alabama Community College System, and other regulatory agencies.
  35. Adheres to the policies, procedures, and standards of Central Alabama Community College, Alabama Community College System, accrediting agencies and federal regulatory bodies.
  36. Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to ACCC, FERPA, and NJCAA regulations.
  37. Ensures institutional compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  38. Serves as club sponsor and on college committees as needed.
  39. Builds brand awareness and reputation in prospective student, parent, and school communities.
  40. Develops and presents public presentations designed to promote the College.
  41. Monitors student behavior trends and student interests.
  42. Guides prospective students from initial inquiry through enrollment to the College.
  43. Represents Central Alabama Community College on and off campus as assigned.
  44. Anticipates and responds to the needs of prospective students and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  45. Performs other duties as assigned that pertain to the position.

Qualifications
  1. Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
  2. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.
  3. Excellent communication skills - oral and written is required.
  4. Two years golf coaching/teaching experience is required.
  5. Coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
  6. Fundraising experience is required.
  7. Ability to deal effectively with students, other employees, and the public is required.
  8. Evidence of experience preparing and managing budgets is required.
  9. Excellent functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
  10. Ability to travel to and from campus locations and evenings and weekends to attend activities and events is required.
  11. Ability to work in a high demand collaborative team work area, maintain a positive attitude, communicate effectively, and manage multiple priorities is required.
  12. Ability to work with diverse populations and provide and model excellent customer service is required.
  13. Ability to read and understand and apply complex policies and procedures is required.
  14. Ability to search, locate, read, interpret, and apply policy and standards is required.
  15. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data is required.

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control.
