Job Description Summary
The Greater Oregon STEM Hub (GO STEM) is a regional cross-sector collaborative working to improve and guide integrated science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in eastern Oregon communities. The Greater Oregon STEM Hub is a collective impact partnership that is part of a statewide network of STEM Hubs supported by Oregon Department of Education.
The Greater Oregon STEM Hub is tasked with leading the efforts of partners to create and deliver STEM education program designed to break through systemic barriers, provide inclusive access, open opportunities and build confidence in P-12 students and educators. GO STEM provides engaging learning experiences that promote and inspire educational and personal success among the educators and students it serves. The Greater Oregon STEM Hub's In SchoolMobile Maker Lab Project Manager is able to design, manage and implement high-quality STEM, Career Connected Learning (CCL), and Work-based Learning (WBL) experiences for educators, students, community members, and other stakeholders.
The In SchoolMobile Maker Lab Project Manager reports to and works closely with the GO STEM Program Director, project partners, and other GO STEM Hub staff in promoting EOU and GO STEM's mission, values, strategic and program goals. The Mobile Maker Lab Project Manager is skilled in a broad range of effective educational practices, curriculum development and delivery, professional development, and event and program delivery of STEM initiatives. They are the first point of contact for the community regarding educational programming of the GO STEM Hub's Mobile Maker Lab. This position provides direct program engagements with schools and communities across the vast seven-county region.
In partnership with the GO STEM Hub Program Director, partners, and Hub staff, the In SchoolMobile Maker Lab Project Manager will publicly promote and support STEM programs with a high level of creativity, innovation and passion. They work well independently and as part of a dynamic and flexible team. The In SchoolMobile Maker Lab Project Manager must be able to exercise independent judgement and make decisions necessary to achieve success in Hub activities. They will have confidence working with in- and out-of-school events and activities. They will communicate effectively with sensitivity and understanding when dealing with administrative colleagues, volunteers, teachers, students, parents, industry partners and other stakeholders.
The In SchoolMobile Maker Lab Project Manager will utilize the GO STEMMobile Maker Lab, a large mobile classroom trailer and extended length van in these efforts to promote STEM Hub initiatives directly in communities across Eastern Oregon.
This position is fulltime, limited duration with current funding through April 2026.

Responsibilities
Public Outreach and Engagement
- Work with P-20 youth and educators on a variety of STEM projects, camps, training sessions, classroom visits, industry tours, and other initiatives germane to the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization pertaining to Mobile Maker Space efforts.
- School-based events (In school programming utilizing the Mobile Maker Lab and school-based locations, implement program curriculum, school wide assemblies, etc.),
- Community-based events (outdoor school, STEM professional programs, Hub outreach, summer programming, etc.),
- Career Connected Learning and Work-based Learning opportunities,
- STEM internship and CCL support,
- Lending library and STEM material supply management,
- Understand CTE/CCL/WBL pipelines and pathways,
- Develop and deliver curriculum and lesson planning resources related to STEM/NGSS/Common Core,
- Support schools and educators with In School STEM curriculum development and alignment.
- Provide and post content for social media outreach, provide website content, and development of fliers for programming.
Program Management
- Plan and organize In School events for schools, communities, and organizations,
- Communicate with schools, businesses, and organizations regarding Mobile Maker Lab activities,
- Provide support for teachers around NGSS, CCSS, STEM, Career Connected Learning, associated with the Mobile Maker Lab,
- Contribute content for publication on Hub websites, social and print media,
- Understand and adhere to Hub budgets and grant allocations,
- Provide assessment and reporting information related to Mobile Maker Lab programs, events, and outreach for effectiveness,
- Propose and implement resource development, training, and operational improvements,
- Use a trauma-informed and equity lens in design and delivery of program services,
- Maintain confidentiality of student information,
- Understand and adhere to Hub budgets and grant allocations,
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both written and verbal.
Service and Other Duties as Assigned
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices across STEM, CCL, and WBL domains and issues impacting regional industry and education sectors,
- Manage contracted personnel, student workers and volunteers,
- Perform other duties and projects as the GO STEM Hub Program Director assigns.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree of Education, STEM, or related Field.
- Three (3) years of K-12 STEM/science teaching experience in a traditional and/or non-traditional setting.
- Two (2) years of experience managing educational outreach, community engagement, and/or organizational systems.
- Two (2) years of experience developing original curriculum for school-aged learners.
- Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Eastern Oregon University will not sponsor applicants for employment visas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree of Education or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience with Maker Space/Lab curriculum development and/or delivery.
- Three (3) years of Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Alignment experience.
- Three (3) years of Career Connected Learning and/or Work-based Learning experience.
