Work Arrangement ​​ : this role is onsite (time split between Moraine and Brookville sites)

The Role:

The GMS Lead will drive Global Manufacturing Systems initiatives across the DMAX sites (Moraine and Brookville) while also setting up the GMS system for a launching site.  You will foster relationships with the DMAX team to develop and implement strategies and plans, provide status, information and counsel to the leadership on the status of the plant, and develop write and communicate GMS tools, techniques and training.   You must have the ability to quickly and independently assess status, develop recommendations and communicate to every level of the DMAX Team

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and implement GMS for DMAX, leading the organization to become a benchmark plant

  • Setup GMS systems and principles for the new launching site

  • Use knowledge and understanding GMS to evaluate where DMAX currently stands with GMS standards, set goals and target dates to bring DMAX within full compliance and prepare for the future state of the plant

    • Guide DMAX to a thorough understanding of the 5 principles of People Involvement, Standardization, Built-In Quality, Short Lead Time and Continuous Involvement

  • Interface, communicate and work closely with the General Managers and Principle Owners to ensure each department is in compliance with the 360 Core Values under GMS

  • Interact and partner with the union leadership creating an environment for change that will gain the support of the entire organization

  • Represent DMAX at the monthly GM GMS meetings and other meetings as necessary

  • Provide input to and work closely with the GMS Steering Committee to help lead DMAX to full compliance with GMS standards

  • Oversee the GMS Self-Evaluation Team Process, follow through on deficiencies, establish control systems and ensure compliance of GMS standards within the timelines established

  • Provide guidance and oversight to the GMS Department Trainers

  • Gain knowledge and understanding of DMAX policies and procedures in the areas of Finance, Purchasing and GSC as they apply to GMS

  • Organize and maintain records

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) ​​

  • Minimum five years of work experience in manufacturing

  • Strong planning skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work with and communicate at all organizational levels

  • Articulate spokesperson with strong presentation skills and superb written communication skills

  • Strong management and leadership skills

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • College degree in business project management or engineering

  • Prior project management experience

  • Extensive implementation of GMS in a manufacturing environment
