The Director of Tax leads all tax functions within the company, reporting to the CFO. This position collaborates with outside tax professionals and internal financial teams to manage Global Tax compliance, tax accounting (ASC 740), tax planning, transfer pricing, and tax audits.
Responsibilities:
- Lead tax planning initiatives to efficiently manage the income tax rate and cash tax rate for the global enterprise including the US R&D credit process.
- Oversee the preparation of all federal, state and foreign tax filings including income tax returns and sales/use tax returns.
- Responsible for the calculation of the Global Tax provision on a quarterly basis including maintaining effective financial controls over income tax accounts.
- Ensure timely filing and payment of all extensions and estimated tax payments.
- Proactively manage global transfer pricing policies including complying with US, U.K. Chinese, Japanese, and Mexican local laws and regulations.
- Monitor tax legislation and advise the Company on related tax strategies.
- Manage income tax audits globally with the assistance of outside advisors.
Position Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong experience and knowledge of ASC 740 tax accounting principles
- Strong technical knowledge of international, federal and state tax compliance
- Direct experience in Global Tax planning including transfer pricing, US FDII benefits, US GILTI calculations, R&D credits, etc.
- Ability to communicate complex tax issues to management.
- Motivated to take on challenges, be part of the planning of the company, and work with various business leaders within the organization.
- Excellent research skills and the ability to communicate well with our independent auditors and tax advisors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with a Master’s degree required
- CPA required
- 8+ years of experience in a corporate tax environment (can span both public accounting and direct company experience)
