Join our forward-thinking team as the Global Process Owner for Requisition to Order in the Source-to-Pay (S2P) domain. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and improve the Ariba Purchase Order process, ensuring operational excellence and driving digital transformation. Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Requisition to Order process, focusing on the Ariba Purchase Order system, to ensure efficiency, compliance, and user satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the R2O process, integrating future competencies and digital advancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the R2O process with overall business objectives and digital transformation goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital procurement.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Ariba and related digital procurement tools, providing guidance, training, and support to users.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess process effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 20% travel.

Role Requirements

Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on digital procurement processes and tools (i.e., Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua, etc.)
  • Proven track record in managing and optimizing procurement processes in a global organization.
  • Excellent knowledge in Ariba Suite is a must (Upstream / Downstream).
  • Strong understanding of digital transformation in procurement, including AI, data analytics, and blockchain.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Requirements:
  • Degree subject area in Business, Supply Chain Management, IT, or related field preferred; advanced degree is a plus

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400.00 and $249,600.00 / year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
