Global Order Buyer

We are searching for a Global Buyer; this is for one of our clients in Austin, TX.

Scope of Responsibilities:

• Purchase request validation and timely purchase order placement 
• Responsible for ensuring all the PO changes have the appropriate approval based on the purchasing policies
• Support local procurement teams and end users on delivery pull in/push out requests
• Raise Procurement Master Data (PMD) request on behalf of local procurement team, sourcing team and requestor for vendor change activities
• Train the requestor on procure to pay process and ensure the requestors raise the purchase requests correctly
• Deal with invoice discrepancies, coordinate with receiving team, Account Payable team, requestor and supplier to resolve payment issues
• Build and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders
• Ensure the compliance of all procurement policies, procedures and special instructions
• Act as local user admin (LUA) to apply Ariba requestor and approver roles
• Submit IT tickets as needed and follow up on the issues with the IT team
• Participate in Procurement Improvement Initiatives and Company Wide Programs
• Participate in project planning/management under guidance of more experienced team members

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Procurement, or related field
• 2-3 years working experience in procurement area or procurement center of excellence
• Good working knowledge of purchasing tools such as SAP and Ariba
• Good MS office skills: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Provides a consistent, professional, and quality service to stakeholders and suppliers
• Familiar with project planning and tools
• Ability to identify when a sense of urgency is required without guidance
• Ability to support Procurement projects when needed
• Ability to assess change impact on processes
• Ability to identify appropriate solutions meeting reasonable business requirements
• Ability to identify opportunities for continuous process improvements
