OVERVIEW

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Global Mobility Manager to join our dynamic team. The Global Mobility Manager will report to the CVP, Global HR with responsibility to manage the end-to-end expatriate experience at AESC. The position will provide guidance to AESC business units, international personnel and assignees on matters pertaining to expatriate policy, tax policy, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process. The role will be responsible to manage vendor engagements that may include Global Mobility tax and relocation partners.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead design of global strategy for international relocation, tax and immigration, including program and policy design, execution and assessment in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders including legal, tax, and HR
  • Work with internal cross-functional stakeholders and external partners to obtain relevant advice surrounding tax and immigration where appropriate, to support the logistical and welfare aspects of the move for the employee.
  • Develop knowledge of the regulatory, tax or compliance rules governing key aspects of Global Mobility and stay current with developments in these areas.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as Payroll, Finance, Legal, Accounts Payable, and Travel
  • Responsibility for advisory work including shadow payroll, policy design and implementation and short-term business visitor projects.
  • Liaise closely with expatriates in relation to providing final tax disclosure figures, payment of tax liability (including review of preliminary tax calculations) and submission of tax returns.
  • Assist management with tax specific issues correspondence with divisions on tax technical issues, reviewing technical advice, seeking approvals and liaising with appropriate stakeholders internally as required and some assignment management responsibility.
  • Management of one or more team members in areas of immigration and/or Global Mobility


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of progressively responsible Global Mobility experience with emphasis on expatriate management and mobility tax
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Law, Business/Administration or a related field
  • Experience managing high-volume global expatriate projects.
  • Understand complex payroll withholding requirements and taxability.
  • A high degree of judgment and discretion, adaptability, strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Fluency in English, written and oral. Fluency in Japanese and/or Chinese is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • GMS or GMS-T credential highly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
