Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Global Manufacturing Engineering Solution Center Engineer. The Global Manufacturing Engineering Solution Center Engineer will be responsible for business pursuit and pre-award prototype manufacturing systems development of new electrification product designs for global Solution Centers in NA, EU, and APAC. This is a significant growth opportunity for an established and technically skilled engineer that is also interested in strategic business side activities on a global scale.

Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Global Manufacturing Engineering Solution Center Engineer. The Global Manufacturing Engineering Solution Center Engineer will be responsible for business pursuit and pre-award prototype manufacturing systems development of new electrification product designs for global Solution Centers in NA, EU, and APAC. This is a significant growth opportunity for an established and technically skilled engineer that is also interested in strategic business side activities on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Owner of manufacturing system design for product, process, and equipment throughout pre-award product business case development cycle
- Support GME manufacturing planning group to perform conversion cost estimation studies and create project capital investment plans
- Create detail industrialization plans working with Global Manufacturing site operations staff, program launch leaders, hardware design competencies, and customers in a collaborative environment to insure successful product launch into serial production
- Conduct pre-award engineering demonstration unit builds in global prototyping facilities working with advanced hardware development engineering
- Support GME Process, Test, and Pre-Production Industrial Engineering groups with design of processes, equipment, and manufacturing system development plans during pre- and post-award product design and production launch cycles at Global Manufacturing sites
- Provide prototype design and build services for emerging electrification process, such as, next-generation power switch module assembly, while working with GME Manufacturing Technology Team leaders
What We're Looking For
- Engineering Degree - Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering, product development, and/or equipment development experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of PDS electrification/electronics assembly equipment, processes, and manufacturing systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of PDS electrification/electronics product design standards
- Proficiency in PDS MCAD/ECAD tools and business IT systems, i.e., TeamCenter/NX, SolidWorks, Mentor, and SAP/GES
- Demonstrated knowledge of CAD tools, rapid prototype and CNC fabrication techniques and materials, with the ability to design and produce complex product manufacturing tooling
- Strong communications skills and ability to work directly with customer/PDS technical, managerial, and business leadership
- Ability to travel internationally
