Role Description & Responsibilities:
3DEXPERIENCE TWIN is a cross-geo department that creates digital twins. These digital twins support several virtual experiences during the whole product life cycle. The department defines and promotes a CAD management method called UDM (universal Data Model), a standardized but always improving set of rules implemented globally.
The Product Information Specialist is a key player in the virtual model creation process. His/her main responsibility is to verify product correctness and to prepare master models adhering to our internal UDM standard. This typically includes also the variant logic definition and the final QA before the model handover to the staging team or to external partners.
The Global Delivery3D Data/Modeling Specialist will have a dual responsibility role consisting of data preparation and modeling.
- Data Preparation:
- Building UDM master models based on CAD data using DELTAGEN Building the logic behind our configurator and visualizers
- Checking the configurations with respect to quality and defined product correctness
- QA for build-up correctness and product logic of all deliverables
- Troubleshoot problems on all production relevant pipelines
- Reporting progress and status to internal stakeholders (PM, Team Manager, etc.)
- Creating effort estimations and support PMs with timeline creation
- Interacting with customers and lead approval sessions
- Modeling:
The Modeling Specialist is responsible for creating 3D models for use in high-end rendering, real-time, and low-poly apps and experiences.
- The Modeling Specialist will work under the Modeling Team Manager, receiving daily tasks, feedback, and direction from the Manager.
- The Modeling Specialist will be expected to model 3D geometry where client-supplied data is not available or is too low quality for high-end visualization
- Utilize Maya, to model soft parts for interior vehicle (seats, steering wheels, shifter boots, etc.)
- Create 3D-modeled assets ranging from shoes, clothing, and accessories to environments and interior design
- Create 3D models at varying levels of detail ranging from high-resolution print models to real-time mobile app/video game models
- Utilize 3DEXCITE DeltaGen, 3DEXCITE DeltaBatch, and other software products ranging from engineering-grade CAD software (CATIA,NX) and consumer-grade modeling software (Maya, 3D Studio Max) to convert, clean, sort, assemble, model, and tessellate data
- Develop knowledge of modeling, and data preparation procedures and workflows
- Analyze, comprehend, and configure product variants from multiple reference inputs
- Escalate problems or concerns to project leadership regarding missing references or data
- Maintain open and clear communication with project leadership
- Coordinate workflow within the team and ensure the high quality of services
- Support the department with modeling tasks and/or data preparation
