Job Description


This Global Insights Manager is expected to provide impactful consumer and marketplace insights to use in the strategic development of Global Menu initiatives. This person will be expected to provide relevant analysis, insights and foresight to understand and drive performance of the business. This person must represent the consumer voice captured from various methodologies (primary consumer research studies along with internal data and various external, syndicated sources) and should be able to share results via storytelling communication.

More specifically, this role should:

  • Be a trusted strategic thought partner to the Global Menu Strategy team
  • Provide ongoing consumer input, compelling stories and standard methodologies to inspire, influence and facilitate decision making in the area of McDonald’s Menu Strategy
  • Act as a “center of perfection” for Insights partners across the McDonald’s system to share standard methodologies and foster an environment of shared learning

Principal Accountabilities

Be a Partner to the Global Menu Strategy Team

  • Support Global Menu team by analyzing category growth trends and identifying business opportunities and prioritization of menu initiatives
  • Develop and implement international research from development of the brief to delivery of recommendations, in partnership with internal stakeholders and key agency partners, on time and in budget. Lead and coordinate with the appropriate Countries Insights lead
  • Use qualitative and quantitative research approaches across various countries to uncover insights on customers and competition, which lead to actionable recommendations for profitable menu initiatives
  • Consult on core product and new product development research protocols with Global Menu team as well as country Menu teams
  • Compile key findings into appropriate storytelling communications for key audiences including executive management, Global team, Markets & cross functional teams (written & in person presentation)
  • Work with Business Insights team and other internal partners on reporting
  • Provide meaningful analysis, insights and foresight to understand and drive performance of the business

Act as a “Center of Excellence”, and become the “go to” person

  • Grow our foundation/knowledge by constantly identifying insights through in-depth understanding & ongoing observations, listening, and reading
  • Review and summarize multiple sources of both primary and secondary insight/data across several countries and/or studies to develop an understanding of consumers and categories
  • Stay on edge with the latest research innovative approaches as well as consumer trends/needs, Network with specialists in the field to develop perspectives as well as current and emerging research and methods

Active participation in Monthly Consumer Insight council involving Insight leads from Global and Countries


Qualifications

  • Confirmed experience in a consumer Insight role within clients side preferably
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytics skills and capable of mining data
  • Prior history in food research and familiar with a syndicated panel or sales data (eg. NPD/Crest, Nielsen, …) is a plus

  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and the needs and expectations of multiple partners.
  • Passionate about the consumers, and driving consumer-centric decision
