Global Category Manager - IT

What you'll do  

As our Global Category Manager - IT, you will run strategic IT Procurement projects to shape and support category procurement in a new global specialty materials company. Every day you will drive sustainable value and cost reductions, as well as partner with strategic suppliers through intelligent sourcing strategies with firm commitment on safety, quality and reliability for the business. Running truly global projects, you will have direct impact on the organization by developing and implementing strategic procurement initiatives together with key stakeholders in our business.

To thrive in this role you must have deep understanding of the IT procurement industry as well as ability to connect with stakeholders on all levels.  

You will be part of a global and diverse team, while reporting to the Global Director Indirect Procurement.

As a Global Category Manager - IT, you will:

• Lead the creation and implementation of new IT category strategies based on a deep understanding of the IT market to have direct impact on the shape of a new company  
• Own the entire procurement process from sourcing strategy until implementation and delivery of the results
• Focus on value creation beyond savings with a continuous improvement mentality
• Drive your designated spend categories towards success in a responsible and sustainable way with high personal autonomy and mandate
• Be a strong liaison between Business Group Stakeholders, Lead Buyers and Category Managers globally
• Manage supplier relationships and be on top of your game regarding external market developments in your category
• Develop and lead Supplier Partnering Programs for relevant key suppliers

You know you can be successful in this role if you have:

• A Bachelors or Master's degree, preferably in procurement and/or relevant technical discipline
• Deep knowledge and understanding of the IT industry
• Courage to lead and take initiative to go above and beyond to add value
• Highly developed communication skills and (external) networking capabilities
• Entrepreneurial spirit to drive value beyond savings
• Capability of working in a fast paced and dynamic business context
• Fluent in English language skills, other languages are good to have
