Position Overview:

The Global Benefits & Payroll Specialist is the hands-on subject matter expert on FastSpring's benefits and perks. Reporting to the VP, People & Culture, this position helps design, implement, and manage US and international benefits plans. Partnering with the People & Culture and Finance teams, this role oversees the company's international benefits programs, including health and retirement programs, to ensure that programs are globally competitive and compliant with the local countries' regulations. The Global Benefits & Payroll Specialist will assist in global payroll each month and will provide backup to the Payroll team, ensuring that FastSpringers are paid correctly, on time.

This role makes an impact with/by:

  • Implementation, communication, and management of Global benefit programs.
  • Administer all items associated with various team member benefits programs, such as private medical, dental and vision, pension and life insurance, as well as company perks.
  • Prepares global monthly payrolls and ensure Benefits & tax deductions are accurate.
  • Acts as the secondary point for US & Canadian bi-weekly payrolls, including the set-up of new states, and ensures benefit & tax deductions are consistent with federal and state wage and hour/labor laws.
  • Conduct comprehensive new hire onboarding sessions and serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, familiarizing new employees with company Benefits & perks, addressing questions, facilitating timely and accurate enrollments to ensure a seamless and positive experience for all new employees.
  • Support the development and make recommendations for plan design changes based on industry trends, team member requirements, company strategy, and the changing regulatory environment.
  • Conduct open enrollment periods and manage carrier connections and other third-party interfaces.
  • Ensures compliance with government (national and state) requirements by studying existing laws and regulations and updates to legal requirements.
  • Verify & maintain data relative to insurance premiums, claims and costs.
  • Manage global leave administration process.
  • Responds to employee inquiries and problems relating to benefits and perk programs.
  • Work with our global team of brokers, platforms, carriers, etc. to ensure our programs are operating efficiently.
  • Supports management's decision-making process by analyzing benefit options and predicting future costs.
  • Monitors benefit utilization by preparing and distributing benefit reports.
  • Assists with employee functions including New Employee Orientation, Company Award recognitions, and employee holiday events as needed.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in benefits administration with a minimum of 1 year with Global Benefits responsibility.
  • 1 year of payroll experience.
  • Experience highly preferred with statutory requirements for employee benefit plans and programs in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and/or the Netherlands.
  • Experience with Bamboo, Paylocity and Blue Marble highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR principles and practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Suite of tools to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and manage email communications effectively.
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously; show adaptability and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Effective planning and priority setting. while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong business insight and judgment, team oriented, and providing a collaborative and inclusive style.
  • Proven ability to engage with employees at all levels of the organization, develop and maintain key relationships, earn trust, exhibit organizational savvy, sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive information and, keep information confidential where appropriate.
  • Desire to support the evolving total rewards strategy for a growing global organization.

The base pay range below represents a good faith estimate of the low and high end base pay range for the listed position. This role may be eligible for the corporate bonus plan (or, if a sales role, a commission plan as defined in the sales incentive plan document). In addition, FastSpring provides a variety of benefits to employees.
