We are expanding at warp speed and are adding to our team – from our sales office and shop floor locations to our remote online team members. We are a diverse, creative, and passionate crew who is always looking to discover and implement fresh, innovative ideas and make some pretty amazing things.
Manually performs (hand or gravity fed spray gun) a variety of painting methods to complete detailed paint and finishes for frames, displays and assemblies. Manually prepares surfaces for paint/finishes. Ensures quality of work and performs general housekeeping and equipment upkeep. Learns customer products and requirements. Able to complete semi-complex assignments without supervision.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews work orders to review work tasks, prepare tools and materials, and understand customer requirements and production schedule. Compiles/gathers supplies and tools needed.
- Prepares surfaces for paint and finishes. This includes sanding, masking and cleaning work surfaces.
- Mixes materials and uses brushes, rollers, air brushes, sponges, quills and carpet to apply a variety of paint/finishes (e.g., latex, lacquers, enamels, primers, clear coats, water base, oil base, and urethane). Examines work to ensure quality of application and color comparison. Loads to cart and makes available for next shop function.
- Inputs labor time to work orders using production log procedures. Documents any deviations in materials used. Notifies lead when supplies are low or are non conforming.
- Disposes of scrap or waste materials. Performs general housekeeping to maintain clean and safe work area.
- Performs preventative maintenance and basic upkeep/repairs on department equipment.
- Maintains knowledge of safety practices, quality goals, and customer preferences.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires the ability to read and comprehend written work instructions and basic math calculations and measurements. This is typically acquired through high school classes in reading and math. Previous art classes with basic understanding of paint and colors preferred.
- Requires 1-2 years of professional custom, free-style painting experience to include applying a variety of materials. Includes the ability to prepare surfaces.

- Demonstrated ability to apply paint uniformly and compare colors for consistency.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to use airbrush paint equipment.
- The ability to perform repetitive tasks without compromising quality.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to self-motivate to meet production schedules.
