Glass Production Technician ($18-$21/Hr Full Time)

Full time openings for skilled technicians to learn our shop operations and become part of our team. Technician’s wage is $18-21/hour plus benefits with demonstrated requisite mechanical skills. The ideal candidate should have experience as a HVAC Technician, construction worker, plumber, warehouse picker, assembly worker, or forklift drive. Additional experience in the following is ideal, but willing to train the right candidate: glass fabricator, glass shop fabrication, glass technician, or background from glass fabrication. Applicants from service or mechanical industry such as oil changing technicians, lube technicians, non CDL deliver drivers, warehouse workers, or light mechanical background are also welcome.

Position objectives include:

· Assist with insulated glass assembly.

· Cut and sort glass products.

· Able to identify correct product for assembly.

· Assist with loading trucks with finished product.

Requirements of successful candidates:

· Have good math and conceptual skills

· Have basic machinery comprehension

· Have the ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion

· Have a safe and stable work history

· Have ability to manage details

· Pass a post-offer drug test

With over 25 years of experience in glass fabrication and distribution, Glass Fabricators, Inc. sells architectural glass and mirror products to glass shops, glazing contractors, millworks, and equipment manufacturers. Products are delivered on routed, enclosed trucks to shops and job sites throughout Iowa and contiguous states. The production capabilities of Glass Fabricators, Inc. include the manufacture of insulated glass units, tempering glass, beveling and edging glass and mirror products, and other fabrication processes.
